G I V E A W A Y
Fun fact: this photo is currently my computer wallpaper. |
Hello everyone! So if you read my post two weeks ago (It's Okay) you know that I just passed my seventh blogversery! That's counting from the time I started my first blog, The Bubblegum Ballerina way back when I was thirteen. It is also kind of my golden blogversery since this happened on the seventh. So I decided to go a little giveaway as a celebration! This isn't a huge fancy one (unfortunately budget doesn't allow for it) but the exciting thing is it is open for both international and U.S. residents!
Two winners will receive happy mail from me. I'm not sure just what I'll put in yet. It could be anything from jewelry to gift cards, and hopefully it'll make you smile. =)
The giveaway will be open for one week. There aren't a lot of options, so it shouldn't be super overwhelming. =)

May Highlights
Well, better late then never, right? ;) After all the craziness of the last few months, I feel like May had some delightfully normal things in it. It also had some super fun things I got to do because there still isn't a lot to do (AKA I'm still not working for the most part, or meeting up with my bible study)
Honestly one of the best things about this month was that church started up again in person. We did our last live stream and began meeting in a hotel ballroom (Which sounds more impressive then it is). There are a bunch of rules but they are 100% worth it to be meeting with believers again in person. =D
The weather was nice on Mother's Day, so we had a picnic out on our lawn. It was really fun to set up a table and chairs out there and eat outside. I don't even remember the last time we did that, so it was very different too.
Our gift to mom for her birthday: Re-doing and expanding her pond. |
I finished editing two of my flash fictions: Wonder and Flesh and Blood. I started trying my hand at flash fiction last year and have loved it. I'm just now getting around to editing some of the older ones I wrote though.
My sister and I got up a little early one morning and took a four-mile hike down to a tunnel nearby. There are a lot of swallows in that tunnel, so if you go early in the morning they are all flying around and it is beautiful.
I got to sit down in a restaurant for the first time in months, which was great. I also got to go back to the library and bookstores, so life is definitely looking up.

I participated in Oh Beloved One's Devo day, which was epic. If you haven't checked out their blog, you should. It's got great encouragement for girls and some awesome devotionals.
My friend Hailey and I watched Prince Caspian together, just a few states away. Virtual movie nights are awesome.
In animal news, we sold most of the puppy. Ranger is growing amazingly fast and he's adorable. We also have a new kitten, Ty, who is just about the cutest thing.
My sister and I work for a neighbor just around the corner so we spent two days over there organizing a massive bookcase for her. We spent a total of ten hours hauling books off, dusting them, organizing them, and getting them back up. It was a lot of work, but surprisingly fun.
Our AC was out for a couple days. Not a super fun thing in Texas heat, but we made it with a lot of fans. ;)
I saved the biggest highlight for last, my friend Lauren came!! We've been friends since I was eight, but we haven't seen each other since 2014. She flew all the way down here, and we got to hang out, drive around her old hometown, spend the day at the beach, and then we had to take her back to the airport way too soon. One weekend was not long enough to catch up after six years, but it certainly was a huge treat. <3
I really loved Ransomed, which is saying a lot, because I do not normally like allegory! My least favorite book this month was Words on Fire, which was really disappointed in since my mom's family is from Lithuania.

It's Okay
It's okay to stop.
The rain keeps falling.
The sky is going to stay put though.
The world will still be here in the morning.
So turn off your phone.
Close your computer.
Don't worry about the rest of the world for a while.
We'll still be here when you get back.
Also, tomorrow (the 7'th) is my seven-year Blogversery. What do y'all think we should do to celebrate?
