About Mikayla

Hi, I'm Mikayla!

I'm a writer who hates melodrama, character deaths, and mushy romance. But I love a lot of dialogue, adventure, quirky characters, and great Christian content. I believe that Sci-fi can be realistic, and girl/guy relationships can be platonic. My characters bug me at all times day and night, and I will never have enough time to write down all the stories in my head. On any night, you can probably find me typing away one of my stories with headphones playing Lindsey Stirling or one of my Pandora stations.
Multitasking makes me happy, so you can often find me typing while talking to someone, or brainstorming while cleaning house.

I am a photographer who hates being limited by small SD cards and loves taking nature photos. My Nikon is practically attached to my hand and I wouldn't have it any other way. I tromp through the woods for the express purpose of taking photos and sometimes my awesome sister Rebekkah models for me.

I'm blessed to be a graphic designer in training. I play with book covers for fun and Unsplash (A free photo site) is my best friend.

I've got world's best family who will never learn to not have six conversations going at once. I'm the youngest of six siblings and I have four sisters and one brother, and a brother-in-law, who are all amazing. My parents are the coolest people on earth and they also give me the best example of how to live a godly life. We live in the middle of the country in central Texas with my guard dog Luke, our cuddly dog Belle, my guard puppy in training: Ranger, two crazy cats, and a handful of chickens and goats. The woods are my happy place, and there are plenty around here to walk in.

Whenever I can, I'm reading. My favorite books of the Bible are 1&2 Timothy, though I love John dearly. As for fiction books, I love Kates's innocence, Dear Mr. Knightley, Wren, and pretty much any Indie Christian book I can get my hands on.
