Twenty-twenty-two

 I never thought

It would feel like this

Like hope and pain

Mixed up together

Like waiting and living

And seizing the moment

I never thought

It would feel like giving up

Or like moving on

I never thought

It would feel like absence

And loneliness

I never thought

It would feel like victory

Or trying new things

I never thought

It would be shared pain

And shared laughter

That started this year

I never thought

It would be a movie on repeat

Or deleting apps at 12AM

I never thought it

Would be like a new beginning

And saying goodbye

All wrapped up

In the first two months

Of twenty-twenty-two

January Highlights

That was not what I expected to happen this month.

I started off the new year with a very quiet celebration with my family. We all crashed right after midnight. ;) On the 2'nd some friends of ours got married, so my sister and I went to their wedding! It was a very different church then ours, so it was interesting to see it. It was also my first time at a sit down meal afterwards, so that was cool!

What was not cool was coming down with Covid right after that (Thankfully the wedding required masks, so hopefully I didn't infect to many people). I think I got the variant, because I only had some congestion, a fever for five days, and some lingering fatigue. After I was feeling better, my family cought it, so we ended up being quarantined for quite awhile. We were just about to be able to see my sister and brother-in-law when they came down with it, so we had to stay apart. I went a little nuts in quarantine (I am a people person), but I cleaned out my room, and read a lot to keep myself entertained. We also watched a lot of movies as a family, watched church online, had late night cookie party, and generally made the best of the time. If you notice this post is a bit short that's because this was almost half my month.

Our church has been meeting in other peoples buildings since they started up in 2012. They started a building fund just last year, and over Christmas, between the churches donations, and two huge outside donations, we are fully funded. O.o. It was a crazy huge moment in the life of our church and I am so excited about the possibility. After moving around to six different locations (Just in the time my family has been going) it is epic to think of having a permanent meeting place in just a few years!

Our zoo passes are running out so me and my mom went one last time to enjoy it. It was not to cold, which was really nice. We enjoyed the animals, and got stickers at the story to commemorate our last time going for awhile.

I discovered that Encanto existed and got so interested that I took my two neices to see it a few days later. I LOVED it, and ended up going back to the theater two more times with different family members. I have not loved a Disney movie so much since Tangled, and that is saying a lot. <3

My sister and I are trying to plug more into our church community, so we joined a community group. We joined the group that a lot of the family's we babysit for go to, so while it's still awkward integrating into a group, at least we have a lot of people we know. XD While I love people, it's hard to step out of my comfort zone and try to get to know a whole group, but I am trying to trust God that this is what he wants us to do.

For Christmas I gave my sister a book with one thing for us to do together each month, January's was taking a day trip to the beach. We had planned on going at the beginning of the month, but covid got in the way, so we squeeked it in at the end, and had a blast. It took us a long time to get there due to an overturned cement truck on the highway, but we had lunch right on the beach, then spent a lot of time just sitting and walking on the beach. Neither of us wanted to leave, and I already want to go back.

My favorite new book I read this month was Ignite by Jenna Terese, my favorite re-read was The Screwtape Letters.

Chrisopher Robin: I wanted to like this, but really, it was so sad for the most part the last 15 minutes being happy did not make up for it at all. I did love pooh. He is the sweetest, most innocent thing. <3

Ellery Queen: My dad and I are watching through this again (Selective episodes due to content), and I love it. I love Ellery, and his relationship with his dad. I'm not a big murder mystery fan in general, but I do love mystery, and sharing this with my dad.

Encanto: This movie. Wow. The music, the plot, it was epic. I loved Mirabel, and found something to relate to in each of the characters struggles. I love all the big family vibes, and the them all pulling together.

Austin and Ally: I honestly did not even enjoy the last season of this, but I never would have stopped thinking about it if I hadn't just finished it, so I did. I was impressed by the fact that the relationship is fairly steady. Austin and Ally do not just like each other for looks, and they care more about the other then themselves. The last episode felt very unsatisfying to me, but I'm happy they got together.

Marrying Father Christmas: I did not like this as much as the first two movies. It felt like it was just a repeat of the first two movies without much to set it apart other then the wedding. Also they blew a lot WAY out of proportion. Still cute and clean through.

Buzz Lightyear: I was really excited to pick this up at a Half Priced Books, and it was cute. Not my usual when it comes to sci-fi, but it was a cute edition to the Toy Story movies. And some of the humor was just golden!

Tangled: Always a favorite. <3 This is my favorite Disney movie, and I do not have enough time to go about everything I love about it. The music, the romance, it's all just about perfect. Also, I find it fun that Tangled was Disney's 50'th feature animation, and Encanto was their 60'th.

Emergency: This is one of my favorite shows. My sister and brother in law gave us seasons 4&5 for Christmas, and thanks to covid we made it through the whole 4'th season already.

Signed Sealed Delivered: While sick on the couch my mom and I decided to finish our watch through of the SSD movies, so we watched the last six movies (Not counting the 2021 release). I enjoyed seeing them again and actually prefer the ending in To the Alter to the one in the new movie.
