Hope is Coming

Hold on tight a little longer
There is hope up ahead
I know it’s dark right now
But the sun is coming

This wall that you’ve built
Is not going to protect you
You’ve got to tear it down
And let the sunshine in

I know it hurts to love again
But someday it won’t
I know it hurts to be vulnerable
But it will save you in the end

Things may be dark right now
And you can’t make a light
But you know the source
of all light

Hold on tight a little longer
Hope is coming with the dawn
Don’t let go. Don’t give up
The purpose will be clear soon

Video's for a Rainy Day

I really want to do a life update post, but I haven't had a lot of time/energy for it yet. So I thought for today y'all might enjoy what I've been watching lately. Youtube has been a fun way to unwind after work. Most of these are comedy sketches, but there are a couple songs in there also.

1. Elevator Romance Gone Wrong Studio C
I'm a sucker for comedy sketches done to a song, so this one is right up my ally.

2. 2020 is the Worst Year Ever It's a Southern Thing Y'all
This is just a funny video about several years getting together and having a "worst year ever" competition.

3. If We Have Each Other Alec Benjamin
A beautiful song, with a pretty epic video. <3

4. Sir Humphrey: The Woke White Knight Studio C
What if someone took modern communication philosophies back to medieval times?

5. Cool With Being Crazy Willow City
This is a super fun song and a really cool video to go with it.

6. Budget Cuts Studio C
A sketch without any props due to budget cuts, which turns out pretty funny.

Go ahead and let me know if you check these out. Even if you don't, comment telling me how your week was!

C H A N G E

I wrote this back in March, but life is changing a lot right now (in some good ways) and it applies so much I wanted to share it.

Right now I’m scared
Scared that it’ll never be the same
Scared that I’ll have a new normal
Scared that I might have to change
But somewhere inside
I know I shouldn’t fear
I shouldn’t fight it
Change is the point
Of every circumstance
It is a chance to change
And change for the better
I am scared of this change
And I’m scared it won’t be good
But here I am Lord
I want to let You work
Mold me in Your hands
Change me
I’m trusting You

July Highlights

This was a super fun month, but also pretty uneventful.

Saharan dust was super thick this year, causing two weeks of headaches, irritated eyes, and a lot of hiding inside from the nastiness. But thankfully, it's over now!

I turned 21! My birthday was on a Sunday, so I got a free Starbucks drink on the way into church (which was awesome), then we had a family lunch, a water balloon fight, and played a lot of board games. It was a ton of fun!

One of the families my sister and I babysit for went on vacation, so they let us come over and row around on their pond! It was my first time on a canoe, which was pretty fun. We also babysat some, and two of the kids we watch got baptized! I cried so many happy tears. <3

Me and Ranger. <3 Notice my kitten in the background?

We got a new cabinet for our bathroom. Which may sound kind of uninteresting, but since the old one was super short, had stains might have been older than me, and the counter was pulling apart, it was a fantastic part of the month!

My sisters Rebekkah and Grace both had birthdays, which was awesome! I took Grace out for dinner, and we had a blast. One problem though. I ended up with food poisoning and basically lived on toast and Gatorade for a week. I also watched a massive amount of TV and got a lot of snuggles from my mom, so there were upsides.

We had smores. Nuff said. ;)

My little dogs. Right to left, Belle, Luke, and Ranger.
I finally finished my story Hiding! It took me eight months, but I did it! I was so excited to finally have another novella done. It still needs a couple edits (It's with my sister now to find inconsistencies), but it's pretty much done!

I started beta reading the biggest project I've ever worked on. It's a 280-page book. O.o

My sister Rebekkah and I went out for dinner and for some shopping. We ended up caught in a massive rainstorm, and I soaked my Converse to get the car. It took me three days to dry them out. XD But it was fun. And hey, I rarely complain about rain in Texas. We're in a drought over here. =P

I didn't really read much this month. But, I LOVED The Silence Between Us. And actually all of these books. =)

It’s Time to Stop Pre-grieving Scattered Journal Pages
The 777 Writing Challenge Tag Little Blossoms for Jesus
Plate Update and Time to Begin Once Upon an Ordinary
Joy in the Day to Day and Charcuterie Board Now All I Know is Grace

So, how was your month? Ever gotten food poisoning?
