This is something I wrote a while back and just now felt up to sharing. 

 That laugh 

I haven’t heard in so long 

So genuine 

So deep 

It makes me smile 

Just to hear it

But somewhere 

Deep inside 

It makes me sad 

To know it was you 

Who made them laugh like that 

Not me 

But I love them enough 

To wish them well 

And hope you make them smile

For a long time to come 

And hope someday
