March Highlights

Well, this month did not end up how I had thought it would. But I've had some really fun stuff, so let's dive in!

My sister and I showed up to work at our neighbor's house, except we got locked out of the house. So we found a window that had been left unlocked and my sister boosted me up into it (with permission from our boss. I had to crawl over an end table and walk through the dark house to open the door for my sister, but overall it wasn't to bad. XD

My mom and I were backing out of a house when we ended up with the back tires of the car sinking into a ditch. It had just rained, so they sank up to the wheel wells. Our roadside assistance was going to take two hours to come, so we were settling in for a long wait when these two guys came along and offered to pull us out. They had a big truck, so they just hooked up a chain and pulled us right out, it was such a God thing it was awesome. =)

One of the churches I work at played Toy Story 4 for the kids. It was the funniest day at work I'd had in a long time.

My mom and I decided to go to the zoo. We realized that in all the years we have been going to this zoo, we've been going in the back entrance. We found the front entrance that day with some pretty epic animal statues. We hadn't realized it was spring break (#homeschoolproblems), so the zoo was packed, but it was still super fun.

I had the flu for two weeks in March. I had my longest streak of fever ever (seven days), and pretty much just watched movies and read books. My mom watched about twelve episodes of Emergency (a show about paramedics) with me, and she doesn't even like TV, so she's officially the coolest.

My phone officially got too many glitches when the headphone jack gave out, so I got a new to me phone, which has been pretty fun!

Once all the Covid-19 stuff started in earnest, my church and Bible study went online, and all my jobs got canceled. We made a last run to the library before it closed and got a lot of books, which is pretty fun.

Our local shave ice shack opened up again. Yes, this is a highlight. I have been waiting for this day since October.

For a quarantine project, we had three huge tubs full of legos that my mom wanted sorted, so we watched both Lego movies and sorted. It was tedious, but I didn't end up working nearly as long as some of my family members.

I didn't read a lot this much, but I really enjoyed what I did. My favorite re-read was A Name Unknown, and my favorite new read was The Moutain Fortress.

  1. I read my first book of Roseanna M. White's this past month and loved it. I really want to read more of her books now. I also read the first book of the Perry Kirkpatrick series and that was so much fun, but too short. :) But I really want to read the rest of the series now. I started Taylor Bennett's first book, but haven't finished it yet. I want to, but I have a really hard time with first person narratives.

    1. Ohh, which one did you read? I love her books! How fun! Oh, yeah, it can be rough when you're not in the narritive you're used to. First person is my favorite, but I hate present tense, so I can understand the frustration.
